Gus and I like to ride around the Cleveland duplex on our bikes. We weren't sure if this would still be possible with our new bike - the Kona Ute - but we gave it a try...

Gus and the monkeys
Gus had just fallen off the bed and bit his tongue - lots of blood oozing out of his mouth as dad tried to calm him down.
It was a great time to sing "no more monkeys jumping on the bed"...

Daycare - 80s Day!
OK - when I think of the 80s I think of Sid Vicious, Joe Strummer, Patty Smythe, and Jello Biafra. Punks in their day.
So when 80s day came around at Gus' daycare I couldn't help but give tribute to these legends of rock. A t-shirt with cut-off sleeves and enough hair gel to build a bridge and viola...

Gus may not have been as pleased as I was...

He sure was a good sport though!

Almost Two (Nothing Run's Like a Deere...)
Gus' grandparents in North Dakota sent him a John Deere hat and a potty-training book for his second birthday. The hat and book were both great fun tonight!

It is really hard to believe this great little guy will be two tomorrow! We are so blessed!
Peace,
Gregg, Jill and Gus

Gus is Home
After a day at Children's of Dayton, Gus is home. Needless to say, Jill's night was not very restful... Gus was discharged at 5:00pm this evening (6/13/07) and is now sleeping well. We were told to keep him in as cold of an environment as is possible. We put the pack-n-play in the basement and have turned the AC way down. He seems happy as usual, a little rattling cough, but not nearly as heavy as last night.
Thanks for the comments and prayers!
Blessings,
Gregg, Jill and Gus

Gus @ Dayton Children's Hospital
Here is a phone photo of Gus sleeping at Children's Hospital in Dayton on 6/12/07. He had a barking cough - it was croup with stridor. For any other kid it would be a cold. Many preemies are especially prone to croup/stridor because of the scarring done to their throats by being intubated.
We arrived at the emergency room around 6:15pm and Gus was finally admitted to a room around midnight after a few breathing treatments and a dose of long-lasting steroid. Jill and Gus stayed the night and Gus is up now (8:30am) eating and feeling OK. They will administer more breathing treatments to clear up his airway and watch through the day. If all goes well he will be home this afternoon...

Too quiet...
More Videos
Here are some videos taken with my Canon Powershot A640 camera - pretty amazing for a P&S digital. They are much higher resolution on my PC but the uploaded files get resized for distribution.
